“Sweet Papaya”
Leaving a pleasant taste in your mouth, the album kicks off with “Sweet Papaya,” which features a retro disco vibe and vibrant colors. The lyrics draw a comparison between Eunwoo and the taste of sweet papaya, highlighting both as appealing to the listener. The depiction of Eunwoo among miniature-sized scenery and props cements the album’s theme of all-consuming love by presenting Eunwoo as larger than life and therefore not easy to ignore.
“SATURDAY PREACHER”
The title track, “Saturday Preacher” carries on the jazzy sound of the first song with distinctive clapping beats. The lyrics point to a metaphor between religious worship and romantic preoccupation, with Eunwoo asserting himself as “one thing to believe in”. Once again, we see the theme of all-consuming love from the viewpoint of the love interest receiving the attention.
“Selfish”
As opposed to the first two songs, the latter half of the album focuses more on Eunwoo’s point of view, as the one being consumed by love. The third song on the album, “Selfish” highlights feeling selfish because they want all of their love interest’s attention. The playful and bright melody here signals a departure from the earlier jazzy tunes and features a mix of both vocals and rap. Towards the end of the song, Eunwoo calls on the love interest to join them in being selfish, blocking everything else out and focusing only on each other.
“Thinkin’ Bout U”
A slow and gentle end to the album, “Thinkin’ Bout U” offers the soothing qualities of a love ballad. As the name suggests, the song focuses on the intense feeling of constantly thinking of one’s love interest and how precious they are to you.
