Aespa makes a comeback with their 3rd mini album, ‘MY WORLD’ with the title track “Spicy”, released on May 8th, 2023. Debuting on November 17, 2020, with the single “Black Mamba”, Aespa became the first girl group to debut under SM since Red Velvet, Aespa has already proved themselves in the industry. Released May 8th, 2023, their mini album ‘MY WORLD’ has yet to disappoint fans.
The title track “Spicy” is an attitude-filled pop song, filled with an intense synth-bass sound. The song is filled with EDM and dynamic beats that are made for those that love bass. The confidence and attitude exhibited through the lyrics add even more to the already intense song. In the music video, the girls are portrayed as high school students. They are seen exploring different parts of the city like the pool and even throwing a party. Aespa in the music video definitely gives off main character vibes. The video gives off summer vibes and was released just in time!
‘MY WORLD’ also includes five more tracks on the mini album that show off Aespa’s skills and improvement as a recent girl group under SM Entertainment. “Welcome to MY World”, “Salty & Sweet”, and “I’m Unhappy”, are all filled with an intense bassline. “Thirsty” is melodic and has a soft feeling while “‘Til We Meet Again” is an emotional ballad. ‘MY WORLD – The 3rd Mini Album’ definitely has a lot of synth and intense bass sound to it, blending in with the rest of Aespa’s discography.
