BABYMONSTER said “we go up”, and they really meant it! After setting summer ablaze with their digital single “HOT SAUCE” in July, the group returns stronger with their second mini album ‘WE GO UP,” released on Oct. 10.
The album features four new tracks: “WE GO UP,” “PSYCHO,” “SUPA DUPA LUV” and “WILD.” Each song reveals a different side of BABYMONSTER’s ever-growing artistry and musical world. The hip-hop dance title track “WE GO UP” carries their trademark power and confidence. “PSYCHO” brings a bold mix of genres. “SUPA DUPA LUV” slows things down with an R&B groove. In contrast, “WILD” takes a refreshing country-pop twist. “HOT SAUCE” was originally planned as a pre-release for this album, but YG Entertainment decided to keep it as a special summer single instead.

Ahead of their comeback, BABYMONSTER’s first full-length album title track, “DRIP,” surpassed 300 million views on YouTube, proving their unstoppable momentum. With this, BABYMONSTER now has three music videos that have crossed the 300-million-view mark with “SHEESH,” “BATTER UP” and “DRIP.” Their official YouTube channel has also passed 10 million subscribers, just one year and five months after debut. This makes them the fastest girl group to reach that milestone and the third most-subscribed K-pop girl group after BLACKPINK and TWICE. For a rookie group entering only their second year, this is a rare and impressive achievement.
Through the diverse charms of ‘WE GO UP,’ BABYMONSTER continues their rise with songs that show confidence, maturity and a fearless sense of fun.
“WE GO UP”
The music video takes BABYMONSTER into new territory. YG Entertainment kept everything under wraps with no video teasers, making the release a total surprise. From the opening scene, it’s clear that a huge budget went into creating this conceptual blockbuster-style video filled with cinematic action sequences.
In their comeback special live, Ruka shared that it was their first time filming action scenes. Each member plays a character on a mission to save the world. Ruka as a teleporting assassin, Pharita as a psychic, Asa as a cyborg swordmaster, Ahyeon as a bomber, Rora as a sniper, and Chiquita as a fighter.
“WE GO UP” explodes with energy from the very first note, mixing confidence with sharp rap verses, soaring vocals and an addictive melody. The lyrics echo BABYMONSTER’s ambition to keep reaching higher and never settle. It’s a message that empowers and connects with fans worldwide, reflecting the group’s fearless drive as they continue to rise.
YG Entertainment’s Executive Producer Yang Hyun-suk had also hinted previously that a choreography version (exclusive performance video) with the same level of quality as the music video would follow. To make this happen, production began early with detailed planning and collaboration across a large-scale dance crew. Multiple filming sessions were held across different sites to capture a grand and dynamic visual experience worthy of the group’s name.
“PSYCHO”
“PSYCHO” fluidly blends elements of hip-hop, dance and rock, driven by a powerful bass line and an addictive melody. The song celebrates those who think differently, people whose unique ideas can change the world. It flips the word “psycho” into a fresh and positive perspective.
“SUPA DUPA LUV”
“SUPA DUPA LUV” combines a minimal R&B hip-hop groove with a tender and lyrical melody. The song’s straightforward lyrics vividly express the overwhelming rush of love that makes your heart feel like it could burst. With more mature emotion and sweet, captivating vocals, the members deliver a song that gently stirs our hearts.
“WILD”
“WILD” infuses country-pop with a lively dance rhythm, harmonizing heartfelt guitar riffs with polished modern beats. The members’ refreshing vocals and confident rap performances further amplify the track’s charm. Carrying a message of self-acceptance and freedom, it encourages us to break away from the expectations set by the world and embrace who we are.
