The K-pop girl group formerly known as (G)I-DLE has officially changed their name to i-dle. This change removed the “G” in their name, which stood for “Girl.” This shift reflects their goal of moving beyond gendered or symbolic labels. Dropping the parentheses also signifies a new creative direction as they mark their 7th anniversary.
i-dle members MIYEON, MINNIE, SOYEON, YUQI, and SHUHUA have since introduced the new name on their social media channels. Along with the rebrand, the group revealed a new logo using the lowercase letters “i, d, l, and e,” designed with dots and lines. The logo includes five “i”s forming a star, representing the five members coming together as one.

The group, known for their refreshing performances and unlimited expertise in multiple genres, renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment in December 2024. With this name change and contract extension, i-dle is ready to continue growing as artists and expanding their sound.
i-dle has released many hit songs, including “LATATA,” “Oh my god,” “DUMDi DUMDi,” “HWAA,” “TOMBOY,” “Nxde,” and “Queencard.”
Their 2024 full album ‘[2]’ and the title track “Super Lady” topped charts, and the b-side “Fate” gained popularity. Their summer mini album ‘I SWAY’ and title track “Klaxon” also received strong support from listeners around the world.
They recently finished their third world tour, 2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL], performing in 14 cities. The group also won major awards, including the Grand Record Award at the 2024 Korea Grand Music Awards and Record of the Year at the 2024 Melon Music Awards.
Now as i-dle, the group enters a new chapter for themselves, aiming for continued success and creative growth.
