Katseye isn’t slowing down; the global girl group is back with their second EP, ‘Beautiful Chaos.’ If their first release introduced us to Katseye’s potential, this one proves they’re not afraid to push boundaries.
Leading up to the EP’s release, the group gave fans two striking singles that couldn’t have been more different. “Gnarly,” released on Apr. 30, exploded with chaotic energy, offbeat lyricism, and an in-your-face performance style. Seven days before the EP’s drop, Katseye released their second single “Gabriela” on June 20. Bringing a sultry, Latin-influenced track that oozes drama and elegance. Together, they hinted at the emotional and sonic range ‘Beautiful Chaos’ would deliver.
With five tracks, this EP is tightly packed but creatively expansive. Katseye jumps between moods and genres without hesitation, offering a glimpse into what the group is capable of.

“Gnarly”
Originally released as the first single, Yoonchae opens with a deadpan line “They could describe everything with one single word”, leading the song headfirst into chaotic genre-bending territory. With bold beat switches and bizarre English lyrics, the songs work, and you will eventually find it stuck in your head. It’s not a typical pop song, and love it or not, it’s ‘Gnarly,’ and that’s exactly the point.
“Gabriela”
The Latin-pop-inspired song feels like a plea, with the members begging the mysterious Gabriela not to steal their hearts, or their lovers. Incorporating Spanish into the song, Daniela delivers a beautiful verse in Spanish, adding authenticity and depth.
Inspired by classic telenovelas, the music video brings all the classics that you would see in the novellas. From a wedding to high-stakes betrayals and power grabs for the fictional “Gabriela Enterprises,” with Jessica Alba as the reigning CEO. Katseye is taking things to a new level.
“Gameboy”
Full of nostalgic Y2K energy, pairing glitchy synths with playful lyrics about love and miscommunication. ‘Gameboy’ is the kind of song that you play on repeat without realizing it. Turning the flirt game on its head with playful lyrics the track feels like stepping into a digital world, only this time, Katseye is holding the controller. Lyrics like “You’re just a game boy / I ain’t trying to play, boy” deliver the perfect dose of sass, showing off the group’s confidence and charm. It’s lighthearted, clever, and addictive, proving that Katseye can have fun and still stay in control.
“Mean Girls”
Dialing back the tempo while still delivering impact, “Mean Girls” blends trap-leaning synths with a more reflective energy. Rather than retaliating, Katseye takes the high road, offering forgiveness and self-assurance while quietly calling out the constant judgment that comes with being in the spotlight. It’s a track that feels like a soft clapback wrapped in glitter.
“MIA”
Ending the EP with a bang and a disappearing act, MIA is wildly fun, unapologetic, and sets that “don’t text back” mindset. The production feels like a blend of early 2010s party pop and modern K-pop flair. The carefree “Solo in Soho” lyric to the imagery of a late-night getaway with friends in the backseat, it’s a celebration of detaching from expectations, pressure, and toxic energy.
With ‘Beautiful Chaos’, Katseye makes it clear: they’re not here to blend in. They’ve embraced the chaos, found beauty in the mess.
