KIM SEJEONG officially returned to the music scene with her first single album “Solar System” on Dec. 17. The sentimental release marks her long-awaited comeback as a singer after a two-year hiatus, and her first musical project since her successful full-length album ‘Door’ in 2023.
This new track is a heartfelt remake of the 2011 classic by Sung Si Kyung. She delivers this song as a quiet comfort for anyone who continues to move at their own pace while carrying the lingering traces of a past love.

When Love Becomes a Habit
Beyond just a simple feeling, she explores how love can transform into a lifelong habit. These small patterns stay with us even when a person is gone. These memories appear in the way we tidy a blanket after waking up, the quick message we send on the way home, leaving one earbud out or seeing dishes neatly stacked in a cupboard.
This enduring love lives in a glass of orange juice, a stroll along the Han River under clear skies, a bathroom door left slightly ajar, or even someone finally stopping the habit of biting their nails. Even if the subject of that love is lost, these habits revolve around us forever. In “Solar System”, SEJEONG describes herself as a moon or a star that still orbits that love, which was once her entire sun and world.
Furthermore, she collaborated with the talented producer and musician Jukjae to create a new arrangement for this masterpiece. She worked incredibly hard on this single because she wanted to push the boundaries of her vocal skills and reach the hearts of her listeners. Jukjae focused on keeping the original melancholic spirit but reframed the sorrow as a monologue, like an actor beginning to tell their story. He used acoustic instruments to represent the shimmering sounds of planets reflecting sunlight. The production team hopes that fans can feel as if they are breathing in perfect unison with SEJEONG’s delicate vocals.
Marking the Start of Her 2026 Activities
This musical return follows SEJEONG’s recent starring role in the MBC historical fantasy romance drama Moon River, which premiered on Nov. 7. While she continues to shine on screen, “Solar System” marks the official start of her 2026 activities as both a singer and performer.
Fans can also look forward to her upcoming global fan concert tour, Tenth Letter, which kicks off on Jan. 10 in Seoul before heading to Taipei, Melbourne, Sydney, Manila, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Yokohama.
As a premier star under Jellyfish Entertainment, SEJEONG has established herself as one of the most popular and in-demand actors in South Korea. She earned the Asian Artist Award for Best Actor in both 2022 and 2023. Many fans love her for her iconic lead roles in hits such as Business Proposal, The Uncanny Counter and School 2017.
Beyond television, SEJEONG has also proven her immense talent in stage musicals including Red Book and Return: The Promise of the Day. She first captured global attention when she debuted in the project group I.O.I in 2016, and later became a beloved member of the girl group Gugudan.
