Coming this June 13, Our Movie is SBS’s newest drama set to tug at your heartstrings. It’s a tender love story featuring a director on the brink of giving up and an actress with numbered days whose lives intertwine after a fateful encounter. As Nam-koong Min and Jeon Yeo-been take the lead, there’s no doubt that watching their characters’ love unfold will be a captivating experience. This drama is also directed by Lee Jung-heum, who worked on the thriller-mystery Falsify, which featured Nam-koong Min as one of the protagonists.

A Look into Our Movie
What do you think happens to love when we die? This is the question Da-eum, our female lead, asks in the drama’s first trailer. She answers it herself by saying that true love lasts forever. However, male lead Jae-ha counters her words as he argues that even an eternal kind of love fades away. Their contrasting beliefs give a glimpse of their characters and the expected tone of this upcoming series. It’s raw and poignant, but it also exudes a warmth that peeks beneath the scene’s surface.
Our Movie is for the melodrama enthusiasts, especially those who enjoy romance stories with emotional narratives. It follows two protagonists leading different lives — Lee Jae-ha (Nam-koong Min), a director in a career-breaking stump, and Lee Da-eum (Jeon Yeo-been), an aspiring actress with a life-threatening disease. After a five-year hiatus, Jae-ha suddenly returns to the industry with a new project. But to start it, he needs to find a female lead. In a fortunate chain of events, he meets Da-eum and accepts her as the main character of his film. Intrigued by their opposite qualities, they slowly discover they have more in common than they thought, brewing unexpected feelings behind the scenes.
Nam-koong Min as Lee Jae-ha
Nam-koong Min stars as Lee Jae-ha, a struggling director with a hidden trauma. After his debut film becomes a hit, he disappears without a trace. As the son of a master in filmmaking, he felt trapped and pressured the more he was compared to his father. This led to him losing his spark, questioning if his initial success was merely a stroke of luck.
Five years pass, and he reappears with a fresh goal — to remake his father’s greatest work, a story focused on a protagonist with a terminal illness. Carrying his passion for film, he strives to create a movie that leaves a lasting impression while overcoming his emotional wounds.
While he often appears calm and collected on the outside, he hides a man filled with self-doubt. It’s only through Da-eum that he’s able to break down his walls and express his true feelings.
Nam-koong Min’s versatility is one of his strongest skills, as showcased in his dramas such as Hot Stove League and My Dearest. With director Lee Jae-ha, he’ll show another new side of himself. And we can’t wait to see him excel in a role once again.
Jeon Yeo-been as Lee Da-eum
Played by Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Da-eum is a carefree actress with big dreams and an even bigger heart. Despite living with a terminal illness, she faces each day with utmost determination to live it to the fullest. There’s light in her eyes as she actively tries to achieve her goals, treasuring every step that comes with it.
While working as a consultant for Jae-ha’s film, she immediately takes the opportunity to audition as the female lead and ultimately gets the role. For the first time, she’s able to live her dream of becoming a protagonist. Her sunshine-like presence and positivity charm those around her, including Jae-ha himself.
In another teaser, we get a glimpse of one of their first conversations with Jae-ha saying, “I heard you only have a year to live?” Da-eum’s unshakeable spirit shines as she responds with, “Because death keeps following me, I’ll do my best to avoid it, even if it’s only for a short time.”
Jeon Yeo-been has demonstrated her ability to play diverse characters, and each role is unforgettable and portrayed with care. From Vincenzo to A Time Called You, she molds into the stories effortlessly, highlighting her strengths. Now in Our Movie, we’re excited to witness how she’ll uniquely interpret Da-eum’s optimism and buried fragility.
When and Where to Watch Our Movie
Our Movie will air for the first time on June 13, while subsequent episodes are scheduled every Friday and Saturday. Consisting of 12 episodes, this much-awaited classic romance will surely cause a flood of tears during its six-week run. Alongside its release on SBS, the drama will also be available on Disney+ worldwide!
