The highly-awaited 2024 MAMA AWARDS is less than one week away, and they have just released the iconic stage performances planned for the 25th No.1 K-POP Awards. This year’s 2024 MAMA AWARDS JAPAN concept will be “BIG BLUR: What is Real?” and the stages will feature some of today’s biggest K-pop stars.
THEME STAGE
YEONJUN of TOMORROW X TOGETHER and sci-fi-esque robots will be the opening act of the 2024 MAMA AWARDS JAPAN. Other K-pop stars such as SUNG HAN BIN of ZEROBASEONE, KARINA of aespa, REI of IVE, and YOSHI of TREASURE will give fans an unforgettable collaboration performance on November 22nd. This year’s MAMA AWARDS JAPAN host, KIM TAE RI, will join performing artists as the opening act on the second night.
CINEMATIC STAGE
The 5th-generation K-pop group ZEROBASEONE will present a dramatic and cinematic take on the beloved Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet for this artistic stage. A clear inspiration from their 4th mini album, ‘CINEMA PARADISE,‘ released in August, ZEROBASE will portray nine “Romeos” and reinterpret the tragic love story as a K-pop performance.
MEGA STAGE
Like last year’s MAMA AWARDS, (G)I-DLE will retake the MEGA STAGE on another intense performance with a large crew of 100 dancers. An unparalleled stage showcasing the essence of K-pop performance, fans can look forward to this girl group’s unrivaled presence.
EXCLUSIVE STAGE
The ultimate tvN drama Lovely Runner fan’s dream come true! The EXCLUSIVE STAGE will bring to life actor BYEON WOO SEOK’s beloved character, Ryu Sun-Jae, to perform “Sudden Shower” in a one-of-a-kind performance that audiences have been looking forward to since the K-drama ended. Fans will also see BYEON WOO SEOK as a presenter for 2024 MAMA AWARDS JAPAN on November 22.
Presented by Visa, the 2024 MAMA AWARDS kicks off on November 21 at the Hollywood Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and concludes from November 22 to 23 at the KYOCERA DOME OSAKA in Japan. There will also be a worldwide broadcast on Mnet, its official YouTube channel Mnet K-POP and Mnet Plus.
