An Artist’s Growth: From GOT7 to Solo Success
We have known Jinyoung since his days in GOT7, where he stood out as a key member of the vocal and performance line. He established the group’s sentimental feel with his deeply emotional tone and steady, expressive delivery. Throughout his career, he has continued to reach meaningful musical milestones. For instance, he launched his solo career with the single “DIVE” in 2021, and in 2023, he released his first solo extended play (EP), ‘Chapter 0: WITH.’ This EP solidified his direction as a solo artist by honestly capturing his personal feelings and narrative.
The New Holiday Track
Jinyoung’s agency, BH Entertainment, announced the release of “Christmas Fever,” highlighting its perfect timing for the festive season. A Busy Year for the Multitalented Star
Jinyoung has kept exceptionally busy this year. Beyond music, he has established himself as a dedicated actor, taking on major lead roles across various projects. He played the male lead in the drama Our Unwritten Seoul through June, starred in The Witch, and the fantasy action film Hi-5.
Even while celebrating his solo release, Jinyoung is still actively shooting a new series, Shining, set to air in the first half of 2026. He is also cast as the lead in the upcoming historical drama 100 Days of Lies. You may also remember his past performances in dramas such as He Is Psychometric, The Devil Judge, and Yumi’s Cells, Seasons 1 and 2.
Jinyoung’s accomplishments this year extend to accolades, too. He won the Popular Star Award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards in November, sharing the spotlight with major stars like Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin, and Lim Yoona. Just last week, he attended a movie premiere for Italian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli’s documentary in Rome, showcasing his wide-ranging influence.
It’s worth noting that before his solo work, Jinyoung first gained attention as part of the duo JJ Project alongside GOT7 leader Jay B. They later debuted as members of the seven-piece group GOT7 in 2014. As a soloist, Jinyoung has released one physical single, “Dive” (2021), and the mini-album, ‘Chapter 0: With’ (2023). Plus, he reunited with GOT7 this year for their comeback EP, ‘Winter Heptagon.’
