Bright and bubbly as ever, girl group STAYC released their 3rd mini album, ‘TEENFRESH’. The music video for the title track, “Bubble”, was posted on STAYC’s Youtube channel on August 16, 2023 at 6PM KST.
“Bubble” is a bright track bursting with “teen fresh” energy, a sound that defines STAYC. The song begins with regal strings and divulges into an upbeat, bubblegum, dance track. The music video puts the members of STAYC in an amusement park, full of colors and, of course, bubbles. Comedian Hong Jin-kyung even makes a cameo!
The rest of the mini album consists of three B-sides along with an English version of “Bubble” and a sped up version of the English version of “Bubble.” The three B-sides are “Not Like You”, “I Wanna Do”, and “Be Mine”. “Not Like You” highlights elements of Atlanta Bass music with elements of trap and heavy bass. Meanwhile, “I Wanna Do” slows the album down with a dreamy pop ballad. Finally, “Be Mine” features an R&B sound.
In accordance to the amusement park concept of the “Bubble” MV, STAYC held their comeback showcase at Lotte World. Swiths were treated to performances of “Teddy Bear”, “Bubble”, and other STAYC songs. During the showcase, fans held slogans that read “Genre is Teenfresh, Bubble is STAYC” in Korean. Excitingly, a performance video of “Bubble” shot at Lotte World was later posted on STAYC’s official Youtube channel.
