Reuniting after their irresistible chemistry in School 2021, Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo return in Head Over Heels. The upcoming fantasy romance premieres on tvN and Prime Video.
Adapted from a popular webtoon, Head Over Heels follows Park Sung-ah, an ordinary high school student secretly working as a shaman by night. Known as the “heavenly fairy” Cheon-ji, she unexpectedly falls for Bae Gyeon-u, a boy cursed with bad luck and a fate of early death. Determined to alter his destiny, Sung-ah embarks on a mission to protect her first love.

The newly released poster teases their fateful first meeting, capturing Gyeon-u entering Sung-ah’s shrine upside down—a shamanic omen of looming death. While Sung-ah’s gaze is filled with concern and longing, Gyeon-u remains composed and detached, hinting at the perilous fate that binds them and the desperate hope to rewrite it. The tagline, “My first love appeared before me, destined to die”, sets the tone for a stirring tale of love, fate, and defiance.

Cho Yi-hyun as Park Sung-ah
Cho Yi-hyun stars as Park Sung-ah, a devoted talisman for Gyeon-u after falling for him at first sight. Reflecting on reuniting with Choo Young-woo after three years, Cho Yi-hyun shared, “Working with him again brought great synergy”. She also praised newcomer Cha Kang-yoon, saying, “Our chemistry was excellent despite it being our first project together.”

Choo Young-woo as Bae Gyeon-u
Choo Young-woo transforms into Bae Gyeon-u, a character hardened by years of misfortune but soft at heart. His life begins to shift after meeting Sung-ah. “Having worked with Cho Yi-hyun before, I was able to rely on her a lot on set,” he said, also noting his easy rapport with Cha Kang-yoon, “His playful personality helped us bond quickly.”

Cha Kang-yoon as Pyo Ji-ho
Additionally, Cha Kang-yoon joins the cast as Pyo Ji-ho, Gyeon-u’s ally who supports Sung-ah’s fight against fate. Once indifferent to love and others, Ji-ho changes as he witnesses Sung-ah’s unwavering devotion. Cha Kang-yoon remarked, “Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo already had amazing chemistry. I focused on blending in, and thanks to their support, our teamwork was solid.”

Choo Ja-hyun as Yeom-hwa
Finally adding intrigue is Choo Ja-hyun as Yeom Hwa, a mysterious shaman-turned-ghost. With a haunting gaze and a dark past, she observes the blossoming connection between Sung-ah and Gyeon-u, hinting at deeper conflicts to come.

Directed by Kim Yong-wan (The Whirlwind, If You Wish Upon Me) and written by Yang Ji-hoon, Head Over Heels fuses supernatural elements with heartfelt romance.
The highly anticipated series not only reunites Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-woo but also showcases their rising careers. Cho Yi-hyun continues to shine following her roles in The Matchmakers, All of Us Are Dead, and Hospital Playlist. Meanwhile, Choo Young-woo builds on his momentum from The Tale of Lady Ok—which earned him a Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actor—The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call and Mercy for None, with upcoming projects including Long Vacation and Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight.
