After scoring their first 2026 perfect-all-kill with pre-release single “BANG BANG,” IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) makes a comeback on Feb. 23 with their second full-length album, ‘REVIVE+’. This 12-track release follows six months after their 4th EP, ‘IVE SECRET,’ with the title track “XOXZ,” and is their first full album in nearly three years after ‘I’ve IVE.’
For this album, the six-member girl group steps away from the princess-like concepts and aesthetics they’ve done many times in past releases. So, this time, they wanted to try something new. Rather than a reset or a declaration of change, the members worked together to present a more evolved and grown-up version of themselves.
IVE is known for their self-love narrative, but in this round, they’re moving from ‘I’ to ‘we.’ Because the world and story they’ve built are not just limited to the six members, they want everyone who listens to their music, including their fans DIVEs, to feel included in the ‘we.’ This still keeps their identity but expands to something more. This is where reignition comes in. “Reignition” means “rekindling the fire,” and ‘Revive+’ expresses IVE’s ambition to let the flame burn under their name, spreading it wider and farther.
12 Songs: Two Titles, Four B-sides, Six Solos
The Starship Entertainment girl group’s new project consists of 12 tracks, which include double title tracks, “BANG BANG” and “BLACKHOLE.” In addition to that, the album offers four B-side tracks, “Hush,” “Stuck In Your Head,” “Fireworks,” and “HOT COFFEE.” ‘REVIVE+’ is also the first project to feature six solo songs by each member. They are credited on their respective solo tracks except for An Yujin’s, and these were first showcased during last year’s second world tour, SHOW WHAT I AM, in Seoul.
Rounding out the second half of the album, Jang Wonyoung expresses her signature confidence in “8,” while Gaeul delicately untangles unfamiliar sensations and emotional textures in “Odd.” Leeseo conveys energy and atmosphere simultaneously in “Super ICY,” and Liz delivers emotions with lyrical vocals in “Unreal.” Rei presents bright and lovable energy in “In Your Heart,” while An Yujin sings of an irresistible allure and presence in “Force.”
“BANG BANG”
“BANG BANG” was first pre-released on Feb. 9 to give fans a taste of the upcoming full album. Honestly, if you were scrolling past TikTok or Instagram reels that use the song, you might not think it was IVE unless you’re familiar with the group. Creating another unique sound, the track sends listeners straight into it with immediate rhythm, a fast tempo, and a clear chorus using Western swing, EDM, and electronic sounds. As always, IVE secured a perfect all-kill and once again conquered every Korean chart.
“BLACKHOLE”
In contrast, “BLACKHOLE” is similar to a film score, which reminds listeners of the film Interstellar. Compared to “BANG BANG,” the performance is much grander and uses a bouncy, shuffle-based rhythm that unfolds in a cinematic atmosphere. This wide sense of space and sound makes the music feel immersive, capturing a world where endings and new beginnings coexist.
As the title track, “BLACKHOLE” pulls listeners in with its “spacey” feel and addictive sound. By using a “black hole” to show how IVE is changing right now, the song uses a sound that pulls inward instead of spreading out. Because of this, it clearly shows where the group stands today and gives a preview of what to expect from their second full-length album.
Tour Dates and IVE’s Future
After starting their SHOW WHAT I AM world tour in Seoul last October, IVE is staying busy with stops in Malaysia, Japan, and Australia from April through June. On top of that, they’re currently preparing for a two-day meet and greet, Dive into IVE, on March 21 and 22 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon.
For a group that’s been around for five years, they’ve managed to stay at the top as the 4th Generation It Girls without constantly trying to change who they are just to fit in. ‘REVIVE+’ shows that they know exactly what makes them IVE, balancing their original style with new experiments. Rather than chasing high numbers, the members say they want to be seen as artists who keep people curious about what they’ll do next.
