4th Generation superstars, NewJeans have returned with a new two-track and two-instrumental EP titled ‘How Sweet’. Released on May 24th, the EP includes two tracks titled “How Sweet” and “Bubble Gum” with instrumentals of both songs following. NewJeans kept it short and “sweet” for their first release of 2024!
HOW SWEET
Their signature retro & y2k styles accompany the music video for “How Sweet”. The track is about how nice it feels to be relieved from someone who is no good for them. Fans have anticipated a new release from the group since they released their 2023 EP, “Get Up.” With massive hits such as “ETA” and “Super Shy,” the group began to dominate the scene for fourth-gen artists. “How Sweet” takes a different approach as their previous songs centered on crushing and friendships. However, this track highlights the importance of how sweet life can be once you get rid of toxicity.
BUBBLE GUM
A month before the full project, the artist released the second song on the EP, titled “Bubble Gum.” “Bubble Gum” is a playful track that encapsulates love and excitement. The song uses bubble gum to signify the sweetness that can come with those experiences. The connection between bubble gum and the sweetness of the title track captures the project’s entirety.
The rest of the EP features two instrumentals from the previous tracks, giving listeners an inside scoop of all the elements that curated this project.
