Attending KCON for the first time can be quite overwhelming with all its experiential content and more. KCON offers an array of interactive content while being immersed in K-Culture where this year’s theme is “Be A KCONer”. This year new program content has been added to KCON’s already popular itinerary of past events. Click here for a detailed overview of who will be attending KCON.
PHOTO OPS & MEMORABILIBA
KCON is filled with various photo opportunities and memorabilia that are free to fans. These locations are dedicated to creating an environment where friends can make memories as well as connect with other fans. KCON Square is where your start to KCON essentially begins and ends. This zone offers many different photo ops as well as a digital wall that showcases fan letters and messages to all artists apart of the KCON weekend. Also, this is where you can grab your KCON ID card. However, you do need to follow some steps beforehand.
Check out the post below for instructions on how to get your own personal KCON ID card!
The ‘KPOP’ zone is an area where you can take photographs using a variety of artist and KCON AR filters. Not only is this zone a photo op, but it is also a place where you can write a letter to your favorite artists. From these letters, one random fan letter will be chosen to be read aloud in front of the artist at their meet & greet.
Next, ‘K-Story’ allows fans to choose an emotion where a receipt with a quote from a famous K-Drama or K-Reality will be printed for them. The quote will relate to the initial emotion they chose.
Lastly, the ‘Lifestyle’ zone is a place where KCONers can recharge themselves and their digital devices. However, you need a lounge ticket to access this area which you can receive from the sponsor booth. All these zones are located very close to one another and located relatively in the center of the convention.
LIVE INTERACTIONS & ENTERTAINMENT
Apart from the concert tickets to see your favorite artists the convention itself offers live performances, panels, workshops, and meet and greets for your favorite artists. First, the panel and workshop stage brings together influencers, artists, and creators who are very popular in the online K-Pop sector. Where they will share insights on their content and journey. The main stage otherwise known as ‘KCON Stage’ is where fans can observe their favorite artists in person and join in on livestreaming and programs set up by KCON.
The ‘Dance All Day’ zone is famous for old and new KCONers. In this zone, fans can participate in a variation of K-Pop dance programs from the Dream Stage, ‘Dance Workshop, and Random Dance Play. Also, an all-new dance game will be featured for first time called Shall We K-Pop Dance? that features artists on the convention floor. The ‘Dream Stage’, another fan favorite will showcase ITZY, IVE & ZEROBASEONE where they will perform during the convention with fans. However, this only applies to those who have submitted applications beforehand. ITZY, IVE, and ZEROBASEONE will all perform on different days, see below for details.
Next, ‘CJ Live Studio’ is where LA celebs and artists will interact with fans both online and offline. It will feature K-Pop Dice game as well as a K-Pop playlist talk that will be livestreamed on KCON’s official YouTube channel.
Lastly, SHOWCASE: NICE TO MEET U is a zone where new up-and-coming K-Pop artists will perform and engage with fans. Whether you attend the convention or the live shows at night, KCON is sure to create an unforgettable experience. KCON will be held at the Crypto Arena located in downtown Los Angeles from Aug. 18 -20, 2023.
