Beloved Youtube series, Johnny’s Communication Center (JCC), celebrates its 5th anniversary this year! NCT 127 member, Johnny Suh, created this channel to share his hobbies and explore new activities. So, while we wait for new episodes, let’s look at some of the most iconic ones to inspire new hobbies for us to try out!
Muay Thai Class
Have you ever wanted to try out martial arts? Then this JCC episode is the one to watch! Johnny took his first Muay Thai class with fellow member, Haechan, during their free time in Bangkok. In the 11th episode of JCC, Johnny and Haechan learned the basics of Muay Thai and the different terms for each move they were taught. The two of them practiced diligently, applying their punches and kicks well during their productive training sessions. Learning this sport is good for high-intensity workouts to help you stay active!
Flying Yoga Class
Want to get into the Flying Yoga craze? Watch the 12th episode of JCC, featuring Mark! Johnny and Mark take on new heights, through the art of Flying Yoga (or Aerial Yoga). This episode is a good introduction to the sport and shows how it’s both relaxing and rigorous, while still satisfying to do overall. Throughout the episode, Johnny and Mark successfully do multiple exercises and poses with the hammocks, such as the Spiderman pose, Vampire pose, Peter Pan pose, and more. Aside from this episode being a fun watch, the two NCT members highly recommend this sport for meditation and relaxation.
Hiking Through Nature
Looking for an outdoor activity you can enjoy while surrounded by nature? Then join Johnny and Yuta on their hike in the 13th episode of JCC! Watch as they bask in the beautiful, sunny weather and eat a delicious meal outdoors (in this case they ate Baeksook, a Korean Chicken Soup dish with rice). Surrounded by nature all around, Johnny and Yuta wade through the forest and go on an adventure while on their hike. Greeted by a beautiful view of Seoul at the very top, hiking can truly be a healing experience that anyone can enjoy.
Learning to Be a Barista
Calling all coffee enthusiasts! Let’s learn more about coffee with coffee lover, Johnny, and special guest, Jaehyun, in the 14th episode of JCC. Watch as they delve deeper into the world of coffee and try being baristas for a day. In this episode, Johnny and Jaehyun learned how to operate coffee machines, how to differentiate coffee beans, and learned more about the finer details of coffee as a whole. As a result, they were able to successfully make espressos, americanos, cappuccinos, and a sweet tiramisu to pair. For coffee lovers, taking a barista class can help them gain a greater appreciation for the art of coffee and the people who make each cup with care.
Making a Mini Movie
Interested in making fun short films? Then watch the 18th episode of JCC to get your creative juices flowing! This fun-filled episode, shows Johnny and Mark conceptualizing a silly idea for a mini movie based on NCTzens’ prompts and play around with the concept of the Freaky Friday movie. Showing each step of their creative process, they brainstorm and film their mini movie while having fun and getting a lot of laughs from it. After editing all their footage, they uploaded their final mini movie Freaky Handshake, which can be found here. So, whether with a professional camera or your camera phone, making a movie from home can be a fun activity!
Mixing Music Like a DJ
Have a passion for music? DJ Johnny takes his beats for a spin in the 22nd episode of JCC! Watch Johnny show off his fine-tuned DJ skills in preparation for his Sunny Side Up DJ set. Throughout this episode, Johnny shows his creative process in brainstorming the songs he’ll be mixing and playing while thinking of the mood he wants to set. After all his preparations, Johnny’ DJ set was live-streamed on the NCT channel where he played remixes of songs like “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish and “Love Me Now” by NCT 127. Mark is also featured in this episode where he performed “Bad Smell” and “QTAH” exclusively for this DJ set. There’s lots of possibilities in making music, so try making some beats too!
Arranging Flowers
Want to set up a pretty vase of flowers at home? Then become florists for a day with Mark and Johnny in the 23rd episode of JCC! Watch as they are introduced to floristry, their birth flowers and more about handling flowers carefully. From learning about different flowers and how to do floral arrangements, Johnny and Mark took on the task and accomplished it well. Following the necessary steps, they found rhythm in their arrangements as they gathered colorful complementary flowers to make beautiful bouquets. So for all flower lovers out there, this is the ideal episode to watch!
Assembling a Fish Tank
Looking to make a fish tank? Then the 24th episode of JCC can help start off this new hobby! Watch as Johnny and Taeyong take on the challenge of making their very own fish tank after researching and preparing well. With a beginner’s fish tank set, they carefully filled up their aquarium with gravel, seaweeds, rocks and a water filter. For a long term project, they were able to successfully establish and manage a working ecosystem in the fish tank. With the right amount of research and care, this episode can help make DIY fish tank dreams come true!
Surfing on the Beach
Craving for more fun outdoor activities? Let’s hit the beach with Johnny, Taeil, Taeyong and Jaehyun in LA! For this 35th JCC episode, watch as they learn to conquer the waves during their first time surfing. From learning how to paddle, the proper stances, and standing on the board, they put their skills to the test! When they finally got to surf, there were lots of smiles and laughs as they had a lot of fun in Sunset Beach. So for those seeking more exciting activities, surfing is highly recommended for new thrills on beach trips!
Aside from these JCC episodes, there’s still plenty more to enjoy! Although the show is on a temporary break, surely there will still be more episodes to come. In the meantime, rewatch these episodes to pick up new hobbies and get a laugh out of these vlogs.
