JUNGGIGO returns to the music scene after two years. He is a South Korean R&B singer under Warner Music Korea. He debuted in 2002 under the stage name Cubic but changed it to JUNGGIGO when he featured on The Quiett’s “That Man That Woman” in 2006. Later in 2008, JUNGGIGO released his first single “Byebyebye.”
In 2014, he released “SOME,” a duet with SISTAR’s SOYOU, which was a success and won first place across multiple award shows in 2014 and 2015. He also released “Want U” featuring Beenzino in 2014, which won first place on the digital weekly chart for Circle Chart (prev. Gaon Chart).
In addition, JUNGGIGO has participated in original soundtracks (OSTs) for various K-dramas, including Uncontrollably Fond, Radiant Office, and Bride of the Water God. His most recent OST was “Be Your Love” in JTBC drama Strong Girl Nam-soon.
JUNGGIGO released his new single “her” on December 5, 2023. The song aims to comfort listeners after a long day of constant noise with its meaningful and sincere lyrics filled with winter sentiments.
JUNGGIGO said that he “want “her” to be the song that anyone can rely on and make them feel warm,” adding that he hopes that the song can act as a shelter from the fast-paced society, which shares the same theme of “healing” and “comfort” with his two previous releases “SOME” and “Want U.”
