You can never go wrong with EXO and their legendary winter tracks! On Dec. 14, six members of the group (Suho, Lay, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun) returned with a beautiful winter single, “I’m Home.” The song serves as a special pre-release for their upcoming eighth full-length album, ‘REVERXE,’ which officially drops on Jan. 19.
Unfortunately for EXO-Ls (EXO’s fandom), the reunion arrives without the group at full strength. EXO-CBX’s Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin are currently absent due to ongoing contractual disputes with SM Entertainment. While the comeback feels different without every single voice, the excitement for this new chapter continues to build. After all, EXO has long been the gold standard for winter music. “I’m Home” joins an iconic seasonal catalogue that includes fan-favorite “The First Snow,” which remains hugely popular in Korea. The song even climbed back into the top ten on the charts in recent years, creating a viral dance challenge in 2023.

“I’m Home”
The new song is a cozy pop ballad that features soft piano melodies and rich string arrangements. You can even hear festive sleigh bells in the background. It’s designed to feel like a warm hug and tells a story about the joy of reuniting with loved ones after a long time apart. The music video is just as sentimental. It shows the members in solo shots inside an abandoned house, but it also features sweet moments of the group cleaning the space together and sharing a meal. There are even dreamy scenes where they play together on a snow-covered distant planet.
The song feels right at home alongside EXO’s beloved winter classics such as “Miracles in December,” “Sing For You” and “For Life.” To celebrate the release, the boys also made sure to connect with fans in person by holding a special fan meeting at Inspire Arena in Incheon on Dec. 14. Although Lay appeared in the music video, he was unfortunately unable to attend the event in person due to unavoidable circumstances.
This sentimental new era follows EXO’s seventh album, ‘EXIST,’ released in 2023. Since their debut in 2012, the group has given us countless viral hits like “Growl,” “Wolf,” “Overdose,” “CALL ME BABY” and “Love Shot.” While we wait for the full album next month, “I’m Home” wraps us in the nostalgic warmth of the classic EXO winter magic we all love.
