DAY6 officially brightened the holiday season on Dec. 15 with the release of their first-ever Christmas special single, “Lovin’ the Christmas.” This marks the very first time the band has released seasonal music since their debut in 2015. This festive gift arrives on the heels of a landmark year for the group, following their 10th anniversary celebration on Sept. 7. To commemorate a decade together, the members released their fourth full-length album, ‘The DECADE,’ on Sept. 5 and renewed their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment.
A Warm Holiday Gift Wrapped in Vintage Sound
“Lovin’ the Christmas” ushers in a tender and heart-fluttering warmth perfect for the winter season. According to JYP Entertainment, the track captures a vintage sound that mirrors the soulful Motown style of the 1960s and 1970s. By mixing the classic Detroit influences with the unique musical color of DAY6, the band created a rich, full-bodied, and warm atmosphere. Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon shared through their agency that they hope fans can create their own special memories while listening to this track.
This milestone year has kept both the band and their fandom, My Day, especially busy. Along with their holiday single and latest album, DAY6 also released a digital single, “Maybe Tomorrow,” and hosted a string of well-received fan meetings. Now, they’re closing out 2025 with year-end concerts titled The Present, running from Dec. 19 to Dec. 21 at Seoul’s KSPO Dome. For fans unable to attend in person, a paid online livestream will be available on the final night, so international My Days can join the fun from home.
The excitement continues into the new year as the band takes their tenth anniversary world tour, The DECADE, to more cities. Stops include Hong Kong on Jan. 17, Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Jan. 24, and Kuala Lumpur at Axiata Arena on Jan. 31. Following the success of their Forever Young tour earlier this year, these upcoming dates are the perfect way to continue the celebration.
