On Feb. 27, K-pop icons BLACKPINK released their first project in almost four years. Since their debut in 2016, the group has quickly become a powerhouse in the K-pop industry, both as a group and as solo artists. Their mini album, ‘DEADLINE,’ included four new songs and one pre-existing track. ‘DEADLINE’ reminds fans that although they’ve been working solo lately, they’re far from finished as a group. They’re giving us badass, hype, and slow jams all at the same time. With so many vibes on this project, there’s a song for every setting. Let’s explore each track from ‘DEADLINE’ and exactly which moments they’re meant for.

“JUMP”: THE PARTY ANTHEM
“JUMP” makes you wanna do exactly what the song says: jump! This party anthem came out in July 2025, leading fans into the summer with a smash hit. Although pre-released, “JUMP” is a timeless track that blends perfectly with the rest of the album. Not only does it integrate incredibly, but it’s also the first track, allowing for a strong yet familiar introduction into a new era of BLACKPINK. Accompanying “JUMP” is a music video full of visuals, energy, and precise choreography. This song captures the true essence of what the group is: fierce. So the next time you’re looking for a good time, get up out of that chair and dance like nobody’s watching!
“GO”: THE RUNWAY ANTHEM
Strut your stuff to the runway anthem. “GO.” BLACKPINK’s Lisa starts the song off strong, “Go get it, I’m a go-getter. Never gon’ settle for second, I need a gold medal.” When you wanna own the floor, this should be one of the first tracks that you think of. The group opts for an instrumental chorus this time, following a more electronic, futuristic sound. This track is the one you play when you’re putting in work. Whether you’re working out, getting ready, or leveling up overall, “GO” is a great background track to support that grind.
“Me and my”: THE ULTIMATE GIRLS NIGHT ANTHEM
Did someone say girls’ night? This track is for all the girls’ girls! Tonight isn’t about competition but more about uplifting every one of your girls. If you need a hype man, don’t worry because “Me and my” is meant to have you and all your girls lit. When you close your eyes and listen to this track, you can imagine the atmosphere already: hair and makeup done, finishing touches, and hot vibes all around. So if you know you and your girls are bad, turn this one up!
“Champion”: THE ACHIEVERS ANTHEM
“Champion” is all about getting back up after taking an L. Much like “GO,” it touches on the idea of success but also includes the struggle that comes before it. “If I ever, ever fall down one time. I’ma keep goin’ on, ‘cause I know I’m a champion.” No matter how hard things get, BLACKPINK advises us to remind ourselves who we are at the end of the day: a champion. Not everything comes easy, but with hard work (and a few losses) it’s possible to come out on top. Let this song be your guide and keep working toward that goal!
“Fxxxboy”: GROWTH ERA ANTHEM
“Fxxxboy” is one of the slower songs on the album. It explores the fallout of unhealthy relationships. Caused by mixed signals, manipulation, and dishonesty, the relationship got to a point where it “hit the wall” as the members describe it. The song also follows themes of detachment and distance as they navigate their life post-relationship. It’s fair to assume many have gone through similar experiences. However, “heartbreak builds experience…” as the members describe it. We all learn from our past and, most importantly, grow from it. If you’re recovering from a relationship of any kind, just remember that you can only come out better than the person you were before.
