ZEROBASEONE (Also known as ZB1) has been a hot topic in the K-Pop community for the past couple of months. Starting off on M-Net’s survival show Boys Planet, The nine finalists were first introduced as ZEROBASEONE during the show’s finale at Jamsil Arena on April 20, 2023. With over 4 million followers accumulated over all main social media platforms, ZB1 has fans all around the world anticipating their debut album “YOUTH IN THE SHADE”, Which is set to be released on July 10th, 2023.
YOUTH IN THE SHADE
“YOUTH IN THE SHADE” is the title of their 1st mini album. ‘In Bloom’ is highlighted as the title track, vined together with five b-side tracks. The tracks are titled ‘Back to ZEROBASE’, ‘New Kidz on the Block’, ‘and I’, ‘Our Season’, and ‘Always’. One is the highly anticipated solo from first place winner of Boys Planet, Zhanghao. ‘In Bloom’ is defined as a song of new beginnings, stepping into a new world where the members will blossom and begin their journey as one group. The title track pays homage to the 80s classic ‘Take on Me’ by a-ha, creating an overall bright and cheerful concept for their debut. As of July 6th, all concept photos have been released along with many teasers. A fifteen-second clip of the title track was released on TikTok and a hidden tweet of a snippet of MV on Twitter was also found.
Their Accomplishments Before Debut
As their debut comes closer, the nine-member group has already begun to set new and break old records. ZB1 set a new record for the most pre-orders for a K-Pop group’s debut album, totaling over 780,000 just within the first five days. As of July 4th, the group became the first group to be a “Million Seller” with a debut album, having over 1.08 million pre-orders in only thirteen days. It is no doubt that their momentum will keep going as their debut date gets closer!
What To Watch As We Wait For Their Debut
ZEROBASEONE has made and will make appearances on many variety shows, such as KStarNextDoor3, Weekly Idol, Amazing Saturday, Tingle Interview, and their own reality show CAMPZEROBASEONE, where they embark on a journey full of fun, excitement, and part-time jobs. Ahead of us, we have the second MV teaser that will lead us to July 10th where ZEROSE (ZB1’s fandom name) will finally see the release of the album as well as their debut showcase.
