BIBI is back to serve another delectable dose of sweetness with “Sugar Rush!” After her recent Valentine’s release “Bam Yang Gang,” BIBI continues on her sweet, sugar-coated themed tracks. While she is well-known for her bolder and revenge-filled tracks like “BIBI Revenge,” “Animal Farm,” and more. BIBI also shows her daring side with a dose of sweetness in her own style and vibe. While “Bam Yang Gang” had beautiful vocals and a fairy tale feel, “Sugar Rush” took a bolder turn while maintaining the candy aesthetic. In this Hip-Hop and R&B track, BIBI already hypnotizes listeners with her voice from the very beginning. Just listening to her sultry, whisper-like vocals makes the melody of this track all the more captivating. Sung in full English, BIBI makes both international and local fans even more addicted to the tempting melody.
Along with an official music video, BIBI also released a performance video on the STUDIO CHOOM YouTube channel. Although the candy aesthetics are more subtle, she dons a suit outfit and top hat like the Willy Wonka character. Released last February 20, the “Sugar Rush” music video is BIBI’s latest project bursting with color. Drawing viewers into an eclectic visual feast of candy elements, the music video is eye candy. With the colorful and vibrant aesthetics alone, “Sugar Rush” is already a candy-filled masterpiece. The music video features a table full of sweet confections, BIBI’s cotton candy and cupcake-like dresses, and floating candies. On top of that, the music video also stars solo artist Yena and (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon. Although they don’t have their parts in the song, their beautiful visuals alone added to the music video’s appeal.
BIBI beckons listeners in with her siren-like, tempting voice as she warns about falling into a sugar rush. She sings “I’m sweet like candy, you could look don’t touch…you get sugar rush,” meaning she is the candied temptation. This addictive chorus expresses that she is an untouchable and rare candy treat. However, if you get a taste of the delectable flavors then you’ll be intoxicated like a sugar rush.
