Enhypen, our favorite vampire boys, has officially kicked off the U.S. leg of their ‘FATE’ tour in Los Angeles at the Dignity Health Sports Park Arena. Fans gathered as early as 8 a.m. to grab tour merch, “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” pop-up merch, and more. Engene’s everywhere were dressed head to toe in themed outfits, while proudly showing off their biases with banners, pickets, and photo cards.
Freebies made by fellow Engene’s were handed out to fans for both trading and non-trading purposes, creating a more wholesome experience. While fans waited in packed lines for merch or to enter the venue, they could hear the group sound-checking for the lucky few who purchased VIP tickets. Upon entering the venue, each person was gifted an album sleeve showcasing the concert’s date and location. While fans waited in their set, the group’s music videos were played on the big screens.
OPENING
Arriving on stage one by one, they were soon followed by a fierce dance sequence. Performing for 23,000 fans, screaming with anticipation, Enhypen opened the show with their hit song, “Drunk-Dazed’. The perfect song to get fans in a frenzy with October’s spooky vibes looming around.
Enhypen’s stage visuals were undoubtedly ethereal, with their macabre, gothic flair creating the perfect vampire aesthetic. Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Niki were dressed in white and gold like vampire royalty. The gold and white ensembles were also worn during tracks like “FEVER” and “Let Me In”.
MID-WAY
In between breaks, all members spoke English, with the exception of their goodbye speeches, towards the end. Engene’s made sure to let the boys know that they had their full support while they were speaking in English. They had many upbeat and bright moments throughout the show, which brought a fun and intimate feeling to their set. Members Jake, Jay (on acoustic guitar), Sunoo, and Sunghoon sang “TFW.” Meanwhile, Jungwon, Heeseung (on piano), and Niki finished it off with “Just A Little Bit”.
The boys entered the crowd during “Polaroid Love”, engaging with many Engene’s, setting them into a fit of excitement. The stadium roared during “Go Big or Go Home” for the fan chant, screaming at the top of their lungs:
“YANG JUNGWON, LEE HEESEUNG, PARK JONGSEONG,
SIM JAEYUN, PARK SUNGHOON, KIM SUNOO, NI-KI, ENHYPEN!”
The boys then changed into more relaxed clothing for colorful tracks like “Tamed-Dashed”, “Future Perfect (Pass the MIC),” and “10 Months”.
ENDING
Later, dressed in black and red, they performed more of their hits like “Chaconne”, “Bills,” and, the new fan favorite, “Criminal Love”. The show ended with their hit single, “Bite Me,” off their ‘Dark Blood’ album and had the crowd in hysterics.
As their encore started, the boys came out decked in ‘FATE’ Tour merch before performing “One in A Billion”, “Karma” and “Go Big or Go Home” again, ending with a shower of confetti and fireworks. It seemed like the boys didn’t want the night to end, as Jake called out to fans who were already leaving stating “you clearly never been to an Enhypen show! We wouldn’t end it like that!”. The boys kept talking and playing with the crowd while expressing their gratitude as well as their last and final goodbye for the night.
Enhypen’s setlist consisted of twenty-four songs, notably missing one that many Engene’s anticipated, “Given-Taken”. They no doubt left a long-lasting impression, giving fans the post-show blues and garnering excitement for future tours. Enhypen is definitely a group that needs to be experienced live. Congrats to Enhypen on a successful start to their tour!
