Eight years after the duo unleashed their dynamic synergy with the song “Bring It” from SEVENTEEN’s second studio album ‘TEEN, AGE,’ HOSHI X WOOZI released their long-awaited album, ‘BEAM.’ This single album features the title track “96ers,” along with two b-sides, “STUPID IDIOT” and “PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!).” The title ‘BEAM’ signifies the dazzling light that radiates from the two, projecting a focus on the continuous creativity between the Performance team leader and the group’s primary producer. Oozing with confidence, energy and talent, the duo uses ‘BEAM’ as an outlet to display the attributes that make this unit different from the others.

“96ers”
The title track “96ers” reflects on the longtime friendship between the two members as they share the same birth year, 1996. The song exudes confidence with its bold and bouncy sound while incorporating Hip-hop elements, adding to the duo’s untouchable aura. Just like their music, HOSHI X WOOZI are artistic masterpieces residing in an art museum for the song’s music video. The visual paired with the music is innovative and reminds people of the individuality HOSHI, WOOZI and SEVENTEEN hold in this industry.
Alongside the title track, ‘BEAM’ contains two tracks. “PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!)” is a haunting alternative R&B track drawing a metaphor of Pinocchio to the bitter reality of love growing through white lies and untold feelings. In contrast to its counterpart, “STUPID IDIOT” is an easygoing, house-inspired clubbing song highlighting a bold and relaxed approach to life. It’s safe to say this album encompasses a song to fit any mood!
