KARD, the largely famous co-ed group, makes a comeback with their 6th mini album ‘ICKY’. KARD is a co-ed K-pop group made up of 4 total members, 2 male members, BM (Big Matthew) and J.Seph, and 2 female members, Somin and Jiwoo. The co-ed group officially debuted on July 19, 2017, with their first mini album Hola Hola. The group also released three separate solo projects before their debut. The mix of having girl and boy members in the group has made them quite popular with many people that enjoy the K-pop industry. Their unique sound has grown throughout the almost 6 years since their debut and shows every comeback. ‘KARD 6th Mini Album – ‘ICKY” was released on May 23, with 7 songs on the EP album.
The title track on KARD’s new album, “Icky”, has a sexy and powerful Latin-pop sound. This Latin-pop sound has been a similar pattern KARD has followed since their debut, gaining the interest of many of those that are in Latin American countries. The song is filled with plenty of innuendoes, that allow them to freely talk about sexuality without it becoming too provocative. In the music video, we follow the four members into this trippy and strange world. Each member seems to be stuck in their own individual place. We also see KARD show off their dance skills in the song’s choreography throughout the music video. This group is never short of unique and amazing concepts for their music videos.
‘ICKY’ includes new tracks “Fxxk You”, “Been That Boy”, and “CAKE”. “Fxxk You” features only the girl members, Jiwoo and Somin while “Been That Boy” features only the guy members. “Without You” and “Without You (Alok Remix)” are both previously released singles released in April. “Without You” is a tropical/Latin EDM song that again matches KARD’s concept. Each song has a similar Latin-pop and EDM sound but sounds quite different, showcasing the different sides of each member.
