tripleS is a unique group with 24 members (as of August 2023, only 16 have been revealed.) in which the fans vote on who will participate in the next subunit. This time, fans have voted for members Seoyeon, Hyerin, Yubin, Kaede, Dahyun, Nien, Sohyun, and Xinyu to form the subunit LOVElution. On August 17, LOVElution debuted with their eight-song mini album ‘LOVElution <ↀ> (Muhan)’ highlighting the vibrant and catchy title track “Girls’ Capitalism.”
“Girls’ Capitalism” shines as the star of this mini-album. According to member Sohyun, the title track aims to spread positivity among their fans by encouraging them to embrace their beauty and individuality. “Girls’ Capitalism” is an upbeat and danceable that employs a catchy vocal motif of “la la la’s,” bound to stick in our heads long after the song is over. The song is not only a display of the subunit’s talents, but it also relays the essential message of self-love, making “Girls’ Capitalism” an anthem for self-confidence.
‘LOVElution <ↀ> (Muhan)’ features seven more high-quality songs, one of them being “Black Soul Dress,” written and arranged by fellow member, Sohyun. “Black Soul Dress” is a groovy pop track with subtle undertones of R&B influences. Another notable track is the B-side “복합성 (Complexity,)” a song of the French house genre about finally receiving the love you’ve waited for but feeling mixed emotions. Members Seoyeon and Dahyun provided background vocals for this track, enhancing the listening experience for listeners.
