Lapillus is a South Korean girl group formed and managed by MLD Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Chanty, Yue, Shana, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun. They debuted on June 20, 2022, with their single “Hit Ya!.”
The group is multilingual, having members speaking Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Tagalog. According to Lapillus’ entertainment company, “The group hopes to deliver courage and a social message to teenagers worldwide about never losing one’s own colors.”
Earlier this year, Lapillus made a successful debut in Latin America where they presented the musical performance of Venezuelan duo Mau y Ricky alongside Sebastian Yatra at the 2023 Premio Lo Nuestro. They met with 2000 fans at their first fan meeting in Mexico.
The members have an extensive history of pre-debut activities that have gained them fans around the world. Shana was a J-Group contestant on Girls Planet 999, placing 16 overall in the show. Chanty formally acted in dramas “Hiwaga ng Kambat,” “I Got You,” and “Starla.” Shana and Chanty also cohosted a YouTube series, “ChanSha World” where they competed in challenges that allowed fans to discover more about them before their debut with the rest of the group.
Lapillus has been nominated for four awards: Female Idol Popularity Award, Focus Award – Music, New Wave Star Award, and K-wave Popularity Award. They won the Focus Award – Music from the Asia Artist Awards in 2022 and the New Wave Star Award at the Seoul Music Awards this year.
Since their debut, Lapillus has been gaining the attention of fans worldwide.
