MONSTA X‘s I.M released his third EP ‘Off The Beat’ on April 3, 2024. We have this release on our rotation for all the right reasons. Although we love each song, we can’t deny that some parts have the spotlight on them. Let’s look at some of our favorite lyrics from each song on the EP!
Lure
The title track, “LURE,” showcases I.M’s musicality between his vocal and rap skills. One line to highlight from this track is:
“Think I’m so addicted to your scent but your attitude is so wicked”
This line is a perfect description of how temptation works, even with someone with a bad attitude. I.M’s vocals are over Latin-inspired guitars and a punchy beat, giving him all access to the listener’s mind and luring them all in at once. This song will remain in the depths of your mind after the first listen.
Bust It
The strong trap vibe of “Bust It” allows I.M to demonstrate determination, self-assuredness, and perseverance. Here’s our favorite line from this track:
“Ain’t no time to hate, why you mad? I feel so blessed”
This line feels like a special callout to the haters. He’s hustling and doing so many things while they watch with anger in their hearts. He has no intentions of molding into their ideas and values his hard work and dedication. That’s an Instagram-worthy caption!

“X0” is one of those songs to draw someone in late at night. The song expresses feelings of infatuation and wanting someone who doesn’t want them back. Here’s a line to highlight:
“I’m sinking and you’re killing me hard but I bet I like this”
This is when you know you have a problem with something but love the feeling of it. I.M shows vulnerability, admitting that knowing that the person he desires doesn’t want him. He’s aware of this, but it doesn’t change his feelings towards that person. We’re all guilty of this at some point, right?
Skyline
“Skyline” is a song with a rhythmic beat with tempting lyrics to go along with it. The song sends a message of mutual understanding and satisfaction. Our favorite line from this song is:
“It doesn’t matter if you have some flaws ’cause you are the one where I should belong”
The reassurance in this line is heartwarming in a way. I.M wants to reach new heights and embrace the intensity of the relationship. Overall, there should be openness, acceptance, and a willingness to fulfill the needs of both individuals.
MMI
“MMI” is an uptempo exotic melodic self-confessional, highlighting the themes of perseverance and self-reliance. The highlighted line:
“I’ll be testing myself, I know it’s painful”
I.M expresses how he pushes himself past his limits, knowing if he doesn’t that everything will be the same. He’s encouraging the listeners to face their struggles head-on and to continue going forward, even if they don’t want to.
nbdy
Facing the emptiness of someone’s absence encapsulates the feeling of “nbdy.” The lyrics describe a sense of not belonging and struggling to find a purpose in life. Here’s our favorite line:
“Do you feel the same as me? I’m lonely”
The song dives into loneliness, emptiness, and feeling lost. I.M shows a sense of isolation despite being around others. He seeks a connection with somebody who can understand his feelings.
