Following their enchanting debut EP, ‘Favorite,’ rookie boy group POW made their first comeback with the single “Valentine” on January 25, 2024. Certainly, the catchy drum and bass track will make the perfect addition to your February love-filled playlist!
POW is a 5-member group belonging to GRID Entertainment, a company founded by former directors of YG and SM Entertainment, and various other K-Pop agencies. If some of the members look familiar to you, it might not be a coincidence. Yorch, who will be turning 22 this year and hails from Thailand, was a former member of Trainee A, a pre-debut group belonging to BigHit Entertainment. Not only that but, he also worked as an actor and model in Thailand. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Dongyeon participated in the SBS survival show, LOUD, which birthed the P-NATION boy group, TNX. Also, he is a former JYP trainee. With the combined talent of Yorch, Jungbin, Hyunbin, Dongyeon, and Hong, POW is a group that hopes to make a mark on the K-Pop scene with innovative and fun energy.
Fresh-faced and passionate, POW is a rookie group we’re keeping our eyes on. Most notably, their vocal talent shines through every track, and “Valentine” is no exception. Furthermore, the members effortlessly deliver heartfelt and desperate confessions in the lyrics, such as “I want to be clear why it has to be you/ Darling be my valentine/ Be my love and stay with me until the next life.”
