SEVENTEEN’S NEWEST UNIT V8 TO ARRIVE WITH 1ST MINI-ALBUM ‘V8’

Just when one thinks SEVENTEEN has run out of surprises, they completely shift gears! The group’s latest powerhouse duo, THE8 and Vernon, are gearing up to drop their self-titled debut mini-album as V8 on June 29. Living up to their name, which symbolizes a V8 engine that accelerates powerfully, the duo is ready to push forward through their own artistic sensibilities.

Much like DxS enchanted fans live on their SERENADE ON STAGE tour, V8 is keeping that momentum alive! CARATS won’t have to wait long to experience this new electronic sound in person. The duo is hitting the ground running with their 2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE tour, starting with a two-night show in Goyang on July 11 & 12 before heading over for a three-day celebration in Hong Kong from July 17–19.

Centered on the theme of “wasted youth,” the project captures raw moments of wandering through time, alongside the growth found within those struggles. Rather than dwelling on lost time, V8 highlights the liberating sense of freedom that emerges from the fragile nature of youth.

A cinematic teaser recently revealed a snippet of new music, offering a compelling audiovisual preview of V8’s distinctive artistry. Through raw, rough-edged visuals and a upbeat sound, the teaser captures the free-spirited energy of youth acted in a road movie. The new soundscape in the video has fueled massive anticipation among global listeners, with its distinct hyperpop elements and dreamy vocals.

V8 aren’t just releasing a mini album, they are staging a full-on sonic takeover. This distinctive sound is fueled entirely by THE8 and Vernon’s profound creative involvement, amplified by a powerhouse production lineup. Legendary 14-time GRAMMY Award winner Pharrell Williams headlines the credits, reuniting with the duo after their hit collaboration “Bad Influence” from SEVENTEEN’s fifth studio album, ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’. Alongside him, longtime producer BUMZU, the mastermind behind the 13-member group’s streak of hits, once again lends his signature touch to anchor the project.

Additionally, the production lineup is stacked with greats of the global EDM scene: Mechatok, Dylan Brady, KIRARA, and the brilliant DPR ARTIC and DPR CREAM. As for the rest of the credits, it involves a mix of electronic, pop, and hip-hop minds. This massive collaborative roster features Alice Longyu Gao, Sophie Cates, MILLENNIUM, Ramzoid, Jake Torrey, and underground forces like BADTREE, HAKASEEE, Han Jung In, kimj, Lodge Boy, Lucian, Numbernine, Rhode, Robb Roy, Rudolph, Stella Smyth, UHD, and Will Not Fear.
