The song shows WayV expressing their love for someone who already owns their heart. Wishing for their loved one to give them love back, their affections keep growing. Groove along to this funky, percussive track and watch the music video for “Give Me That” here:
She A Wolf
Already being a great start to the album, let’s look at the rest of the new mini album! While “Give Me That” takes fans on a love-filled dance fever, “She A Wolf” shows a more intense side of WayV. With a beastly aura and impactful performance, WayV proves that they are also the kings of darker concepts. In this powerful track, the group sings about a gorgeous and confident woman, a beauty and a beast. Even if they want her, they acknowledge that their attraction is a dangerous one. Much like WayV’s other tracks of the same caliber like “Poppin’ Love,” and “Rodeo,” this track also shows WayV’s wild charms.
Might As Well
With a laid-back and funky vibe, “Might As Well” expresses an unlabeled relationship with someone, wanting to make it real. In the song, there is a mutual attraction, and WayV feels that they might as well make it official. “Might As Well” shows that WayV doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to someone they adore. Despite the casual vibe of the song with a guitar melody and percussive beats, the message of the song is far from its casual melody. “Might As Well” expresses in the lyrics how they don’t waste time in love.
New Ride
Looking for a great song to listen to on the road? Then “New Ride” is the perfect song! Naturally an easy-going song, this is a pleasant R&B track that is as relaxing as it is comforting. Primarily, the song is about WayV wanting to take their loved one out in their new ride. While cruising together, this track on the ‘Give Me That’ album is a great easy-going pick-me-up song. Through this track, they want to send the message that it’s okay to slow down and relax for a while. As a whole, WayV invites listeners to kick back and unwind from life while on a nice drive.
Don’t Get Mad
To conclude the ‘Give Me That’ album, “Don’t Get Mad” is a strong ending completely different from the previous tracks. Compared to the other love-filled tracks, this track depicts a complicated, unhealthy relationship. Despite its sweet-sounding melody, the song’s lyrics express a toxic relationship and how their love changed for the worse. In the lyrics, it shows jealousy and mistrust towards their partner. Further shown in the addictive chorus, on WayV’s side they say they have no other girl, that they’re loyal to her. To add, they tell her not to get mad, because she’s actually the one hurting them. In this situation, the girl has “other guys in the world,” a line WayV repeats to emphasize their partner’s unfaithfulness. Consequently, “Don’t Get Mad” shows a couple on the verge of a breakup, serving as a warning sign for romantic relationships.
Overall, WayV continues to show how multifaceted they are as a group through their music. While the ‘Give Me That’ era is only just beginning, let’s continue to support them in their promotions and beyond. Which song from this album is your favorite? Let us know on our Instagram and Twitter!
