Bobby is back in the K-hip-hop scene in an image stronger than ever! On October 10, Bobby released his first mini album ‘ROBERT’ featuring some of the famous names in the industry; JUSTHIS, Jung Sangsoo, and Huh in the 4-track hip-hop record. We last heard Bobby spitting fire in the 2021 release “U MAD”, and since his first major break with “YGGR” and as the winner of rap reality Show Me The Money 3, the idol-rapper has successfully paved his way in the harsh hip-hop industry and is now one of the most respected artists.
‘ROBERT’ delivers bold messages of combat for freedom in aggressive tracks hard-carried by Bobby’s angry rap and biting rock-fueled punches of drums and guitar. Opening this aggression is ‘f’, the leading single injected with profanity. We imagine ‘f’ as an action-noir film, where Bobby plays a dark hero all blood and guts in the middle of a violent war for freedom from oppression and manipulation. Using colors black (oppression), red (rebellion), and white (freedom), he rebels his way to liberation in the most angry yet artistic way.
This level of authenticity of the RocKstaR intensifies with the rest of the tracks, now forming an allegiance with his colleagues in the industry in the featured tracks. A DnB banger, “hercules!” gets heavier with drums and personality, now less violent and more cocky and intimidating. Routing us back to rock once again is “why stop now”, a track first heard on Bobby’s Dingo Freestyle Killing Verse. The track is like an adrenaline urge to never stop and continue the grind. Closing the 9-minute banger release is “sae”, a track soaring off like a bird.
Earlier this year, Bobby announced his plans to release four albums in a row, and ‘ROBERT’ is second on the line. Fans can expect more bangers from Bobby by the start of next year, be it another hip-hop record or more softer tunes. Follow him on Twitter and Instagram to stay updated on his new releases!
