Whee In, the MAMAMOO member and THE L1VE artist, has been expressing herself through her solo music since 2018. As she explores her individuality, she just made her latest comeback with her first full-length album, ‘In The Mood,’ on October 12th, 2023. This album serves as a sequel to her ‘WHEE IN’ identity series from 2022, which contains mini-albums about her connection to light.
Whee In challenges herself with entirely new genres throughout this album. The title track, “In The Mood” is a mix of both R&B and pop. With eleven tracks, the album is dedicated to discovering the “mood” that you carry within yourself and helping you find your vibe.
Music Video
The music video leaves you feeling refreshed, as the colorful aesthetics and clear sound take over. Whee In does an amazing job at, not only finding her own mood, but helping us find ours as well.
Additionally, there were a few helping hands on this album, bringing extra charm to the project. HWASA of MAMAMOO featured on “17,” the third track of the album. There was also an R&B collaboration with rapper, HAON for the song “Bite Me.” Whee In addressed her gratefulness for their participation; “There are 11 tracks in this album and a special thanks to HWASA and HAON for featuring in this album. They really brought even more charm to this album,” she said.
Whee In finds her mood in various genres including pop, R&B, pop-rock, ballads, and much more. Many components of this album stand out, but the final track wraps the whole thing up with a ribbon. Written with full intention, “Here I am” is a self-written ballad that encapsulates Whee In’s feelings about preserving good things, even when she feels trapped in the dark.
