After their comeback in July with their mini album, the Korean girl group, ITZY, finally released their anticipated second full-length album. ITZY’s second full-length album, ‘Born To Be,’ was released on January 8th with their title track ‘Untouchable.’ This album expresses and represents the concept of strength, which means a lot to many of their fans.
The album consists of 10 tracks: “Born To Be,” “Untouchable,” “Mr. Vampire,” “Dynamite”, and “Escalator.” The other remaining songs on the album, “Crown On My Head,” “Blossom”, “Run Away”, “Mine,” and “Yet, but” are solo tracks by each member.
Music Videos
The title track, ‘Untouchable’ is a mid-tempo EDM track with strong guitar sounds accompanying it. ‘Untouchable’ is about presenting strength when in times of hardship throughout life. In the music video, we see ITZY in various backgrounds, especially in broken down and decaying places. ITZY performs an amazing choreography, that helps them “defend” themselves against the soldiers coming after them. The video depicts the four girls as staying strong and handling themselves when facing hardships coming to knock them down.
‘Born To Be’ is an energetic EDM track. ‘Born To Be’ is about being born to express themselves freely and without second thoughts. The lyrics “born to be wild wild and free” best shows the meaning of the song. The music video matches the lyrics as the ITZY members Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna are seen performing a dynamic and precise choreography in a volcanic settings with background dancers in black.
The final song with a music video, ‘Mr. Vampire’ is a melodic pop song. ‘Mr. Vampire’ is about fantasying falling in love with a man who is a vampire and how they are willing to be bite to be with him. In the three minute video, four ITZY members perform a mesmerizing choreography in various settings.
