Rising K-pop girl group KiiiKiii is embracing nostalgia this summer with their latest digital single, “DANCING ALONE.” Following the success of their debut EP ‘ UNCUT GEM’, with over 30 million streams on Spotify. The five-member group JIYU, LEESOL, SUI, HAUM, AND KYA continue to build on the momentum and capture the warmth of friendship, fleeting connections, and carefree youth.
Known for their vibrant Y2K aesthetic and inventive storytelling, the single blends city pop rhythms and retro synths, “DANCING ALONE” offers a fresh yet nostalgic summer vibe. Redefining what it means to be “alone”, KiiiKiii celebrates fleeting connections and the power of living unapologetically in the moment.
Instead of choreography, the music video focuses on genuine interactions, exchanging glances, spontaneous laughter, and running scenes over CGI. It shows the real moments of friendships and the memories that linger long after summer ends.
Also included in the digital single is the b-side “Strawberry Cheesegame,” a playful early-2000s-inspired dance-pop track layered with themes of curiosity, rivalry, and the complexities of friendship. It’s a mix of kitschy charm and emotional depth.
A Nostalgic Chapter
The rollout for the single consisted of KiiiKiii teasing this release with lo-fi clips, nostalgic concept photos and videos of the members, and an interactive “KiiiKiii Garage Sale” website, further blurring the lines between music and immersive fan experiences.
Since debuting in February 2025 with their pre-release single “I DO ME,” which has amassed 13 million music video views, KiiiKiii has earned praise from Rolling Stone, The FADER, and The Hollywood Reporter for their Y2K-inspired aesthetics and boundary-pushing concepts.
With “DANCING ALONE,” KiiiKiii continues to make their way through the K-pop scene, combining nostalgic with modern digital engagement to forge an identity that’s both innovative and deeply relatable.
