KINGDOM OF THE SUN: JAHAN'S KINGDOM PT.VII • POP TOKKI

The seven member boy group (made up of members: Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Jahan, and Hwon), KINGDOM, has just released their final installment of their first series, ‘The History of Kingdom: Part VII.’ This time, the album showcases member, Jahan’s version as the “Kingdom of the Sun.”

Jahan being the maknae of the group adds meaning to his part being the last installment in their first series. If you’re a fan of ATEEZ, TXT, or STRAY KIDS, then KINGDOM should be right up your alley, as this album has the heavy yet soft, in your face sound that ATEEZ, TXT, and STRAY KIDS have along with KINGDOM’s own flair.

The album features seven tracks, with one being an instrumental of “COUP D’ETAT”, the album’s single.

Off this album, two tracks have those signature hard hitting beats, while the remainder have fresh and poppy vibes. It’s hard for us to choose a favorite off this album, here at POP TOKKI, as all tracks have their own individual style, making them all must hears!

“COUP D’ETAT,” the single off this album, is accompanied by a MV, made entirely of warm color tones. The video opens up in a sand dune with all members dressed in black, with a sepia overtone. It seem that KINGDOM took musical influences for the song based on where the video was filmed, as you can hear it from beginning to end. As the MV progresses, scenes show the members decked in green, then white and gold attire in various locations such as street markets, temples, and nature while surrounded by animals. Since the theme of Jahan’s KINGDOM is ‘Kingdom of the Sun,” the video displays the powerful and whimsical visuals of a bright, fiery sun.
