SEVENTEEN electrified the stage at LOLLAPALOOZA Berlin this weekend, making history as the first-ever K-pop act to headline the festival. Fresh off their groundbreaking main-stage performance at Glastonbury Festival in June, the group has proven they’re a global force, delivering a show that left fans and newcomers in awe.

On September 8, SEVENTEEN took the stage at Berlin’s Olympiastadion & Olympiapark to perform their 90-minute set to a crowd of over 110,000 people. The group opened the show with a series of classics, including songs like “Super,” “DON QUIXOTE,” “Darl+ing,” “Ready to Love,” “Rock with You,” and “Left & Right.”

During the opening remarks, VERNON expressed heartfelt gratitude to the crowd, sharing, “We know how much you’ve waited for us. Not only is this our first time in Berlin, but it’s also our first time performing at LOLLAPALOOZA and headlining it. It’s all thanks to you guys!”

The energy skyrocketed as SEVENTEEN split into their subunits, with BSS (SEUNGKWAN, DK, HOSHI) kicking things off with a high-energy performance of their hit song “Fighting.” The vocal unit (WOOZI, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, DK, SEUNGKWAN) then delivered an emotional rendition of “Cheers to youth,” leaving fans especially touched as the group’s Lollapalooza set marks Jeonghan’s final performance before his mandatory military service.

The performance unit (HOSHI, THE 8, DINO), excluding JUN, who is pursuing acting in China, and the hip-hop unit (S.COUPS, WONWOO, MINGYU, VERNON) brought the energy back with performances of “Spell” and “Fire.” The group’s leaders (S.COUPS, HOSHI, WOOZI) kept the momentum with their hype anthem, “CHEERS.”

As the night continued with a lineup of fan-favorite hits, SEVENTEEN sealed the experience with their signature “AJU NICE” tradition, treating the crowd to four playful encores that had everyone dancing and shouting along until the very end!

LOLLAPALOOZA has been leading the recent charge in spotlighting K-pop at festivals, with both their Berlin and Chicago festivals featuring multiple groundbreaking performances by South Korean artists. SEVENTEEN now joins the lineup of stars who’ve taken LOLLAPALOOZA by storm, including j-hope, TOMORROW x TOGETHER, NewJeans, Stray Kids, and IVE at the festival’s Chicago edition. As other global festivals like Coachella, Global Citizen, and Governor’s Ball continue to embrace K-pop, SEVENTEEN’s headlining set has further strengthened the international presence of Korean artists on some of the world’s biggest stages.

For everyone who couldn’t make it to Berlin, don’t worry– SEVENTEEN has more in store! The group will make their long-awaited return in October with their 12th mini-album and their RIGHT HERE world tour. We can’t wait to see what they have planned next!
