WARNING: You will become a SHAWOL (SHINee fan) after reading this list!
SHINee is genuinely a group like no other. From their first song to their most recent, they have been changing the landscape of the K-Pop world. Since May 25th, 2008, Onew, Jonghyun, Minho, Key, and Taemin have been performing and making new music as a group and as soloists. This list will go through some of our favorite stage performances of our Shining SHINee!
“Odd Eye”
“Odd Eye” is an earworm like no other. It’s not only one of their best b-sides, but it comes with an incredible performance. Key looks stunning with the eye patch and the rest of the members’ visuals are out of this world. The choreography is simple but smooth and visually appealing. This song will definitely get stuck in your head, listen with caution.
“Replay”
One of the best debut songs of all time if you ask us! Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin came out of the gate sprinting. One of their first performances, about 5 days after their debut, and they’re singing live and dancing perfectly. We love “Replay” (and Taemin’s bowl cut) with all of our hearts.
“Lucifer”
“Lucifer” is one of our all-time favorite SHINee songs and title tracks without a doubt. This stage shows perfectly in-sync choreography and (once again) unbelievable live vocals. Jonghyun’s powerful voice peaks when he hits an iconic 8-second-long high note in the middle of Minho’s rap. “Lucifer” set the bar for difficult choreography and vocals that continue to be impressive even 13 years later.
“Tell Me What To Do”
If you want a heartbreaking and powerful song that showcases SHINee’s perfect visuals, look no further than “Tell Me What To Do”. From their fifth repackage album, ‘1 And 1’, Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin perfect their ballad-style vocals with an acoustic guitar and synth instrumental. This song and performance are truly stunning on both visual and audial fronts.
“Everybody”
“Everybody” is a song and performance that truly need no introduction. The military-inspired stage outfits are truly iconic of this era and song. The electric choreography is what sets “Everybody” off from, well, everybody. SHINee performs this incredibly difficult choreography with ease and precision that few groups could even try to replicate. The absolutely insane bridge – the iconic plane formation move – is often skipped over when another group covers this song! We love “Everybody” and get pumped up just thinking about it.
We know that Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin will continue shining for years into the future. Seeing how far they have come since their debut 15 years ago is awe-inspiring and shows how dedicated and talented these five are. We hope to be SHAWOLS (SHINee fans) through many more comebacks and activities in the future.
