After four long years, VIXX has returned to the scene with their 5th mini-album, ‘CONTINUUM’. VIXX is a four-member group under Jellyfish Entertainment and has been in the K-pop scene since its debut in 2012. Derived from Mnet’s survival reality show MyDOL, the group includes members N, LEO, KEN, and HYUK.
The album possesses a theme of ‘continuity,’ perfect for their return after such a long time. Additionally, it dives into the members’ personal and musical growth. As the members continued to participate in various ways throughout the album, their resilience and drive did not go unnoticed.
The group makes it their goal to give thanks to their dedicated fans, STARLIGHT who have patiently awaited their comeback. On behalf of VIXX, member LEO left a heartfelt message. “Hello, this is VIXX, back with our mini-album [CONTINUUM]! We wanted to give our thanks to the countless STARLIGHT who have been waiting for us to return as the group VIXX for 4 years of only being able to meet via individual activities and digital singles. Through this album, we were able to look back on each of our own paths, as well as the path we’ve walked as VIXX, so please give it lots of love and attention!”
The album contains five new songs. The title track, “Amnesia,” is an R&B-based track that showcases each of the members’ strengths as individuals. In doing so, we get to see what makes each member special and how they contribute those specialties to their craft. Speaking of each member making the album special, we are met with the song “If You Come Tonight” which contains lyrics that were written by LEO. The song is a heartfelt song about VIXX’s love for STARLIGHT and their cherished memories together.
The other songs on the album include “Chemical” (lyrics by LEO), “라일락 (LILAC)” (lyrics and composition by HYUK), and “SAVAGE.” As we can see, the members were very hands-on in this process and took their time to make a perfect album for their beloved fans.
