Hearts2Hearts knows what summer needs. On June 22, the next-generation girl group delivered it with their second mini album, ‘Lemon Tang,’ under SM Entertainment, along with the official music video for the title track of the same name.
The eight members, JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN, and YE-ON, already know their way around a summer hit. Last year, “Style,” a self-assured bubblegum-pop crush anthem, flooded our playlists and landed on NME’s best K-pop songs of 2025.
‘Lemon Tang’ sharpens their artistic identity and expands their musical range across six tracks. Moving through hyper-pop, drum ‘n’ bass, rock, rap, house, and retro-leaning pop, all powered by their sparkling, youthful spirit.

As the title track “Lemon Tang” spells out, the sharp, sour taste of a lemon mirrors the feeling of being alone. Yet the meeting of “you” and “I” creates the sweet-and-tangy spark of connection. As the song puts it:
“Sweeter when we’re together”
JIWOO describes the song as a “stress reliever.” You can hear it in the playful lyrics, uplifting energy, and spirit of togetherness.
A bubbly bop with a zesty core, “Lemon Tang” follows in the footsteps of summer K-pop classics like Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor.” It runs on a smooth bassline and dance-pop production made for lazy summer days.
Inspired by the feel of a live musical, the music video takes us through colorful, constantly changing sets and dynamic performance sequences. It carries the same carefree, sun-drenched spirit as Girls’ Generation’s “PARTY,” which makes sense, because Hearts2Hearts’ label seniors showed how bright summer visuals are done. Highlights include a lemon-squeezing gesture during the chorus, symmetrical group formations, and a heart shape created by all eight members.
For the shoot, the group flew to Japan to film for the first time, though the weather had other plans. STELLA recalls that it rained, turned sunny, went windy, and then rained again, making every outdoor shot a small victory. The crew had to use artificial lighting to fake the sunshine while rain fell in the background.
The final cut looks nothing like the chaos behind it. Hearts2Hearts dances through a summer market, a beach, and a lemon grove; bubbles in one scene; gemstones in another; and a mysterious boy appears throughout the bus trip. When life gives you lemons and a broken weather forecast, apparently, you make a hit music video.
Through stories of clumsy yet sincere hearts, new beginnings, friendship, and self-discovery, ‘Lemon Tang’ captures emotions that shine brighter when shared.
“15-LOVE” uses the back-and-forth of a tennis match to capture the tension of an unconfessed romance. “Baby Steps” is about the nervous excitement of trying something new and embracing it.
Meanwhile, “heart emoji (♡)” catches the first flutter of a budding crush. “Secret Recipe” treats cooking as a love language, where preparing a meal becomes a metaphor to build deeper bonds.
Last but not least, pre-release single “RUDE!,” released on Feb. 20, closes the album with pure, attitude energy. STELLA’s sassy spoken interlude went viral on TikTok and sent the song past 126 million Spotify streams. The music video has since gained over 116 million views on YouTube, their biggest milestone to date.
Hearts2Hearts has grown quickly since debuting in February 2025 with their first single album, ‘The Chase,’ co-written by British R&B trio FLO and K-pop super-producer Kenzie. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and choosing an elegant sonic direction over typical debut trends, ‘The Chase’ showcased the group’s vocal range while keeping their Gen Z playfulness alive and has since surpassed 100 million streams.
Less than a year into their debut, Hearts2Hearts swept newcomer awards across the 2025 award season, taking home New Artist of the Year at the Melon Music Awards and the MAMA Awards, among other Rookie of the Year wins.
Last March, they concluded their 2026 Hearts2Hearts Premier Showcase and Fanmeeting <HEARTS 2 HOUSE> in Seoul, New York, Los Angeles, and Jakarta, but the response left the group hungry for more. They sold out both the North American venues, drawing in S2U (Hearts2Hearts’ fandom) from all over the world.

Above all, ‘Lemon Tang’ makes their second chapter sound a lot sweeter than what came before. Bright, playful, and full of personality, Hearts2Hearts hopes we enjoy and create unforgettable summer memories with them.
Listen to ‘Lemon Tang’ on all streaming platforms now. Physical albums are also available through music stores and online shops worldwide.
