STAYC is back with their first comeback of the summer! Released in June 2026, the four-song project ‘2:LOVE’ captures the various feelings that one may feel in a brewing (or existing) relationship. We begin to hear themes of confusion, infatuation, and maybe even hints of delusion? The project consists of four songs: “2 L0VE,” “WHERE YOU AT?,” “SORRY,” and “BEAT MY LOVE.” Although the project is short, its songs harbor big emotions. The upbeat energy of this project gives us a whimsical summer feeling that sets the tone for this season as a whole. To anyone who has said, “Bring back fun K-POP,” STAYC may have heard your requests while making this project! Today, POP TOKKI wants to dive into each track and discover which phase of love each song dissects.
2 L0VE: FALLING
”2 L0VE” is everything that you expect whimsical K-pop to sound like. It explores the feeling of falling in love and not knowing how to navigate the intense feelings. This title track is inspired by the tennis score “two-love” (2.0), which is why they chose to change the letter O to “0” in the song title. Although the “game” may seem decided, it’s important for them to continue expressing their feelings. STAYC does an amazing job sticking to their authentic bubbly pop sound. Following popular tracks such as “Teddy Bear,” “RUN2U,’ and “ASAP,” “2 L0VE” is a prime example of who STAYC is, and it stays true to their essence. This track perfectly emulates summer fun and endless crushing! So next time you want to lie on the beach and find your new summer boo, go ahead and keep this song in mind.
WHERE YOU AT?: FATE
Have you ever met that one person where it just feels like everything has fallen in place and it’s all meant to be? “WHERE YOU AT” is the perfect song to describe that feeling. This track explores the feelings of knowing deep in your heart that you’re meant to be with someone. Whether it’s really meant to be, or if it’s just pure delusion, “It’s all about the perfect timing. This is probably a sign, yeah,” according to STAYC. Never take those signs for granted! When the time is right, it’s right!
SORRY: INFATUATION
Also carrying more of the signature STAYC sound, ‘SORRY’ is an upbeat and playful song that describes the feeling of having a crush that you can no longer keep to yourself. Everyone’s got that one friend who can’t shut up about their new crush, no matter how hard they try. This song is about exactly that. When you deeply like someone, sometimes there are only so many words that you can say to sum it up. “Sorry, sorry, so sorry. ‘No, it’s just that-‘ I have to say it again, sorry.” No matter how much they try to keep it to themselves, they can’t help but express the internal thoughts they’re having about this person.
BEAT MY LOVE: CONFUSION
Love isn’t always linear and clear. STAYC does a great job at expressing that through “BEAT MY LOVE.” It’s so easy to be in denial when it comes to a new love interest; I mean, why get over-invested in what could be nothing? One of their primary lyrics, “I don’t know what kind of feeling it is…I can’t know everything, but heart’s beatin’” dives deeper into the uncertainty of their feelings. However, they’re not ignorant of how they’re feeling inside. The moral of the story? Don’t ignore that feeling in your heart. You may not know what it is, but you never know where it’ll lead you. And no, that does not mean to go back to them.
