XG is making big changes, as they only just celebrated their third anniversary as a group back on Mar. 18 with accomplishments such as embarking on their first world tour, ‘XG 1st WORLD TOUR: The first HOWL,’ last year, performing in 35 cities worldwide following the release of their 2nd mini album, ‘AWE,’ last year in November. JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA have propelled themselves into the spotlight as the first Japanese artists ranking #1 on the US Billboard “Hot Trending Songs Powered by Twitter” and being featured on the cover of Billboard magazine as the first Japanese girl group.
In addition, they’ll for the first time at Coachella on Apr. 13 and 20 as the only Japanese artists on this lineup. They’ll follow the performance with shows from their XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL in Seattle and Latin America (São Paulo and Mexico City). Then they will conclude the tour with a finale at the famous Tokyo Dome on May 14, along with releasing their 6th single, “MILLION PLACES.”
“IN THE RAIN”
XG is set to release a re-cut version of the track “IN THE RAIN” on April 11. XG released this track on their ‘AWE’ album in November 2024. The song is influenced by R&B while blending the soft and soulful vocal harmonies and soft guitar tunes with the sounds of thunderstorms. “IN THE RAIN” expresses feelings of heartbreak as the sounds of rainfall and thunderstorms add a more reflective atmosphere for the listener to understand and feel the emotions of how the lyrics and melody complement each other.
Other versions of “IN THE RAIN” will also see release. “IN THE RAIN x XDM” will be included, while keeping the spirit of the original track, it will be enhanced to a fun energy as its paired with EDM sounds as it continues to carry XG’s XDM series. Not only will their be various versions released, but a new visual will accompany the re-cut version, featuring all the members dressed in suits with rainfall and their captivating choreography featuring umbrellas, as seen on their tour.
