K-pop icon Seventeen just dropped their 12th Mini Album ‘SPILL THE FEELS’ on October 14th, setting our week off properly! This new record has already recorded over 3.4 million pre-order copies, adding to their total album sales of 5.32 million in the first half of this year. The group is definitely on its way to accomplishing another record-breaking year after having the biggest-selling worldwide album in 2023.
The 13-member group displays their stories through 6 self-produced tracks and the album title’s anagram of ‘I FELT HELPLESS.’ This reflects their vulnerability to the audience about past solitude and loneliness moments and how they have thankfully tuned these dark moments into a brighter future. Seventeen encourages new and current Carats to spill unsaid and unseen feelings when dealing with complicated daily issues and rely on one another.
“Eyes On You”
An upbeat house track as the start of ‘SPILL THE FEELS.’ The song name Seventeen focuses on one person to create memories even when doing mundane things. The lyrics announce the importance of relying on one another to build a strong relationship, even if challenges arise. A fun song with touching words!
“LOVE, MONEY, FAME”
This release’s lead single is an R&B/hip-hop song layered with groovy melodies. In the lyrics, Seventeen remarks, ‘What I need is only you,’ which is a clear message that love wins over money and fame. In the music video, each member showcases their unique perspective on confronting love in an honest way, even if sometimes it is not easy to spill their raw feelings.
“1 TO 13”
A Miami bass-driven track about loving with all the heart. An extremely clever way to interconnect the number of group members and the parts of the heart – to remark the deep love Seventeen has for Carats. A promise from all thirteen of them.
“Candy”
The vocal unit does it once again by delivering a sweet ballad! Stating the ongoing album theme, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan let fans know how love can be like candy and that only a bit is sometimes enough in this crazy world.
“Rain”
A neuro-disco track from the Performance unit, with certainly relatable lyrics. From the start of the song, this unit walks fans through heartache and lonely situations. At the same time, they are not losing hope on finding someone to love deeply, even if it seems impossible.
“Water”
The hip-hop unit’s powerful rage song features incredible vocals and impressive raps. S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon, defy gravity by walking over the ocean as if they believe in themselves. It is a great rendition of life and being alive in a self-assurance way, which can easily motivate Carats.
Apart from enjoying SEVENTEEN’s newest album, fans can anticipate the band’s first U.S. tour in over two years, SEVENTEEN RIGHT HERE WORLD TOUR, starting on October 22nd in Rosemont, IL. To end this upcoming U.S. tour leg, seventeen sold out two stadium shows in L.A. during the first day of ticket pre-sales.
