Based in LA but born in Jakarta, NIKI had a breakthrough with her EP ‘Zephyr’ back in 2018. Making appearances on various shows and festivals like Lollapalooza and Head in the Clouds; NIKI made a powerful impression. She now kicks off 2024 with her new single “24”. This single showcases a new era for her while combining all the little kinks that made her popular in past EPs.

Heavily inspired by Joni Mitchell; 60’s and 70s’s indie folk singer songwriter. Joni’s performance of “Both Sides Now” at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival sparked an emotional chord within NIKI. She immediately felt inspired and soon had her new single “24” flowing out as she picked up her guitar.
The single combines all the elements of NIKI’s discography from the touching lyricism to the soothing and lulling instrumentals. All the perfect tools to convey our inner conflicting emotions of growing older in our 20s. The lyrics of the song narrate the reminiscent memories of exploring the first half of your 20s, highlighting the ups and downs in a way that allows any listener to relate to their own experiences.
NIKI expresses step-by-step in “24” her experiences. Expressing how her life flew by without her noticing. Although the lyrics convey her emotions perfectly, the instrumental is what truly brings this song to life. The layers of the instrumental- guitar, violin, and other string instruments gradually increase. This build up of various instruments creates an unrivaled crescendo that NIKI adds to her discography. NIKI shows a sonic and intimate side through “24” as it sets up a new chapter for NIKI. A new chapter where she is prepared to take on 2024 with every new opportunity that comes with it.
