Suzy and Kim Seon-ho are reuniting in Delusion, a new Disney+ mystery thriller melodrama set to premiere in 2026! The series is based on the webtoon of the same name and spans two timelines and locations: 1935 Gyeongseong and 1800s Shanghai. It combines gothic romance, supernatural elements, and psychological suspense.
Delusion marks Suzy and Kim Seon-ho’s first reunion since the 2020 hit drama Start-Up. This time, their on-screen chemistry returns in a much darker, more intense, mysterious setting that contrasts with their previous lighthearted romance.
Suzy as Song Jeong-hwa
Suzy stars as Song Jeong-hwa, the mysterious owner of the Nammoon Hotel. She hasn’t stepped outside in over 50 years, fueling rumors about her true identity. In truth, she’s a vampire trapped in sorrow after losing her great love. Her stagnant existence is disrupted when a young painter enters her world, awakening emotions she thought were buried forever.
Kim Seon-ho as Yun Iho
Kim Seon-ho plays Yun Iho, a struggling artist who believes he’s been commissioned to paint a portrait of an elderly woman in her seventies. But when he meets Jeong-hwa, he’s stunned and confused by her youthful appearance and even more puzzled by her unusual request to be painted as an older version of herself. Bound by an agreement, Iho must stay in the hotel until the portrait is complete. Strange events unfold. Fear sets in. Still, he finds himself slowly drawn to Jeong-hwa.
Directed by Han Jae-rim (The Face Reader, Emergency Declaration, The 8 Show), the series promises an emotionally rich and visually immersive experience, exploring deep emotions, eerie secrets, and a slow-burning relationship. As a melodrama, the chemistry and romantic tension between the two leads will undoubtedly be central to the story.
Production is currently in full preparation with plans to shoot overseas, including locations in China. Choi Hyun-wook, Huh Joon-ho, and Kim Young-kwang are also reportedly joining the cast.
The series is part of Disney+’s expanding Korean content lineup for 2025, which also includes:
