Tokyo-based, progressive-pop girl group, ATARASHII GAKKO!, is bringing their captivating, eccentric, and overall mind-blowing live show to North America for “The Seishun Tour” this November. They will kick off their tour on November 7th in Los Angeles at The Fonda Theatre.
This announcement was released following their appearances at 88rising’s Head In The Clouds festival in Los Angeles and New York.
ATARASHII GAKKO! represents a new generation of Japanese youth (or seishun), embracing both personal expression and pushing the boundaries of tradition a little at a time. Dressed in their classic schoolgirl uniforms, they will show off their seamless choreography combined with their diverse discography of Japanese pop, hip-hop, and dance.
“OTONABLUE” is the group’s most popular song to date, with over 30 million views on YouTube and 3.1 billion views on TikTok. They were introduced to international audiences by their label, 88rising, releasing their first global single “NAINAINAI” in 2021.
The outlandish quartet is comprised of kawaii-but-fierce MIZYU, wildcard SUZUKA, graceful KANON, and funky RIN. Together, the girls break genre walls to create music, mixing elements of pop, jazz, hip-hop, rock, and more. With their experimental sound and self-choreographed dance moves, the group shows us that they’re truly a force to be reckoned with.
