KCON LA 2024 CONVENTION: POP TOKKI RECAP

This year’s KCON LA 2024 Presented by Samsung Galaxy allowed KCONers to get hands-on and interact with their favorite artists in a space bigger than before, adding new stages and opening up the convention area to create more room for KCONers to explore. Many groups and idols like KR&B leader ZICO, international girl group KATSEYE, and 5th gen global sensation ZEROBASEONE made appearances at the convention center’s south hall, allowing fans the opportunity to create lasting memories with their favorite artists. Here are some of our favorite KCON LA 2024 convention moments.

Samsung Booth

Multiple artists made appearances at Samsung’s booth during the convention hours! Kep1er, BOYNEXTDOOR, and ENHYPEN made their way to the Samsung booth, showcasing the different uses of Samsung’s technology. This year’s Samsung area included tables with the company’s newer items, an escape room for guests to complete, a photo op booth, and an opportunity to experiment with their new AI Flexcam.

“K Story & Comics in America”

KCONers’ favorite webtoons were brought to life at K Story & Comics in America’s booth, especially with appearances from multiple groups like BOYNEXTDOOR and Kep1er! K Story & Comics aims to build a cultural bridge between Korean art and the U.S. market by hosting their own events similar to KCON’s convention.

CJ Connecting Stage

KCON LA introduced a new stage at the convention this year: the CJ Connecting Stage, where artists were able to interact with fans through unique activities, games, and dance challenges.

Some of the most memorable CJ Connecting Stage events were through ZEROBASEONE, who made multiple appearances and broadcasted their dancing, charm-making, and cooking skills. From participating in a random dance play to composing their own Bibigo lunch boxes, ZEROBASEONE delivered fun and interactive corners for the many fans who showed up to see them. While on the stage and off, the group made sure to interact with fans as well, providing lasting memories for every KCONer who attended this year.

KCON Stage

The KCON Stage KCONers know and love welcomed a change this year, expanding the size of the stage itself and the audience space, allowing more attendees and a larger stage area. The KCON stage was further away from the main convention space, converted into a concert hall towards the end of the convention area. The lineup featured artists like A.C.E, BOYNEXTDOOR, g.o.d, Hyolyn, ZEROBASEONE, and more, who were given around 30 minutes each to perform their discography, interact with the audience, and give their ments. This stage was the highlight for many KCONers, as the production quality, attention to detail, and fan interactions allowed for this to feel more like a mini concert rather than a convention activity.

M&G Stage and Red Carpet

This year’s KCON M&G stage was open to the public for viewing, allowing everyone to feel connected to their favorite performers and actors.

Located in the main convention center, the stage not only featured interactive sessions with fans but also served as the red carpet. Performers could pose for photos and interact with media before heading to the Crypto Arena for their main event performances.

This setup enhanced the overall fan experience by allowing a more immersive and accessible engagement with the stars. The vibrant atmosphere and well-organized layout created a festive and dynamic environment, making it a highlight of the KCON experience.
